Great vehicle! Thats really different, you've obviously spent a lot of time and money on her and its certainly paid off. Rotrex chargers are great - the only option for supercharging in the UK really! - what boost and compression ratio are you using? Keep up the good work!

Superb site, superb looking Lightweight. I am re-building three lightweights in Saudi and have been searching the web for ideas. Don't know how many mods I will make but you have given me some inspiration. I was going to spray mine yellow but now I think it could be black. Cheers Ian Orrell ianorrell@hotmail.com

Excellent work, I am retired in Panama and have a SIII as a passtime. I have built a new bulkhead as the cost of importing is too high. I am starting the changeover and on removing the upper/lower dash, they are in bad shape. So I will have to make a dash, something simple and funcional. Yours looks great, and has started me thinking. You have a great site. Michael Laughery Aguadulce, Coclé Republic of Panama laugheryme@cwpanama.net

Probably like lots of other Landrover saddies, I saw the article and came here. Clearly your pride and joy and looks like the sort of toy that all boys should have. Perhaps you could publicise the shows which you (if any) are to attend. My partner was tutting as I watched the videos as she cannot understand such actions. However if the landy was on Coronation street she would be interested! I would love to see this in the flesh but couldn't figure where you were. Pete pete.bostock@rivendell-sedgeford.co.uk

Hi Lee, truly an awesome machine, I was thinking of getting something for the weekend ;-) maybe a Caterham 7, now it could be a lightweight with a V8 mill growling somewhere underneath. I think this would look really well parked next to the Disco and I am sure my wife would understand. We can go on holiday next year. Fantastic site too, its now in my favourites. Great modification! and nice site! I got 1973 (tax exempt) lightweight with 1991 2.5 defender petrol engine Shes a minter with a rollcage, highback seats, black modular steel wheel, stainless exhaust etc the list of improvements is endless but the greatest single improvement was electronic ignition! its adictive isn't it once you start. I now want to put a Landy TDi engine in her (so that i can run her on bio fuel) but can't find any advice on the subject it must have been done before you got any ideas? Cheers Marc

HI LEE, VERY IMPRESSED BY YOUR COMPREHENSIVE WEBSITE. I MYSELF HAVE JUST STARTED A REBUILD ON A SERIES 2 LIGHTWEIGHT AND HAVE FOUND YOUR SITE VERY INFORMATIVE. MINE IS BEING BUILT FOR COMP SAFARI AND ROAD USE WITH THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BEING THAT I AM USING A BORG WARNER 66 AUTOMATIC BOX THRU A SERIES 2 TRANSFER BOX WHICH GIVES SPEEDS UP TO 75MPH IN LOW AND 150MPH IN HIGH.....WOULD NOT LIKE TO SIT IN ANY LANDY AT 150MPH LOL THEY ARE AS AERODYMIC AS A BRICK. HAVE GOT SOME GOOD IDEAS AND KNOW WHERE TO LOOK OUT FOR THE PITFALLS. THANKS AGAIN JOHN

My compliments, I am in the middle of rebuilding my 2a lightweight, and you have given me some good ideas. I don't think my bank balance runs to the kind of spec you have achieved, but your web site certainly has got my imagination fired up. Well done.
