Classic Cars on The Prom 25/07/04
We decided to take the Lightweight down to Bournemouth this week as the weather was good and we haven't been down for a while now. My mate Guy also took his Porsche 550 Spyder Replica along. It is always good fun driving along through the New Forest following Guy in his Spyder. You get to see all of the people's faces as he drives by, there is always a lot of interest.
We got hooked up with a couple of MG's in Bournemouth, who where also attending and when we actually got to the prom, the chaps obviously did not know what guys motor was and decided it was another MG as it came in between two others they directed him to park up with all the other MG's. Oh well, I wanted to get a few pictures of the two motors parked up together...
Anyway, it was quite a good day with a number of motors attending that I had not seen before. Andy Saunders took his wacky looking X-2000. I actually ended up chatting to Andy as he was looking over the Lightweight when I came back from taking a few photos. He has produced a number of interesting motors over the years, including his fairly recent Mentley Insanne, a cross between a Bentley Melsanne and a Range Rover! I have added a link to Andy's web site under the Links section for anyone that is interested in some very creative and unusual motors.
